The Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of The Colored Pencil Society of America is holding a Member’s Exhibition at the Granville Arts Center in Garland, Texas, from November 4 - December 3. More than 100 works of art by over 40 artists will be shown. A reception will be held Thursday, November 16, from 6:00-8:00 pm. The Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) is a nonprofit organization for colored pencil enthusiasts working to promote colored pencils as a fine art medium by sponsoring exhibitions and workshops, participating in product research, and educating the public. One of the largest CPSA chapters is District Chapter 224 – Dallas/Fort Worth (DC224). The chapter currently has 85 members from most regions of Texas, 13 other states, and even Canada. DC224 is a self-governing group of CPSA members whose experience with the colored pencil medium ranges from less than a year to over 45 years. Several more experienced artist members lead workshops throughout the U.S. and have been included in many popular art publications.
